The ESII is the end of Pentax's Spotmatic line of 1960 - 1970s cameras and like all Pentax products of this era - it has a solid durable build. The 'ES' stand for Electro Spotmatic as this model has an electronic shutter which can also operate manually at shutter speeds of 1/60 and above. In auto mode select the desired aperture on the lens and the camera will determine an appropriate shutter. A slightly awkward battery  chamber located under the lens mount, requires 4xLR44 button batteries. These are readily available. Being a screwmount (M42) body this opens up a wide range of legacy Pentax top quality lenses. Very stylish black body. Our example here is Japanese manfactured in A+ cosmetic condition and operational in all aspects including the light-meter. Fresh battery set for NZ purchaser and pdf manual.
